When I get asked what I want for Christmas, Mother’s Day or my January birthday, it stresses me out.
It feels like another thing I need to add to my mental to-do list for the holidays. Not ideal.
I stress about what items will go on that list because I have my own mental constraints. Should I just be practical? Ask for nothing? How expensive is too expensive? Do I really need this? What the heck do I need?
To simplify this dilemma, I thought about gifts in categories that are important to This Mom Life. I hope you find this list sparks some ideas for you or a Mom you may know. The best part is, all these items can be found on AMAZON!!
Don’t forget to share it with your Santa(s)!
I’m not sure why it’s taken me so long to get on board with Amazon’s Alexa but this year, it tops the list.
It seems like such a luxury, HANDS-FREE convenience as a busy Mom with a toddler. You can play music, check the weather, ask about measurements for cooking, set alarms (and time-outs!), re-order diapers, answer math questions (essential when working from Home), Podcasts while cleaning, so many possibilities!
Sticking with the hands-free theme, the Chester Street Miri Pebbled Crossbody bag by Kate Spade is a MUST when on the go.
I HAVE to give you a Talladega Nights reference here, you know when Cal says “I like to picture Jesus in a tuxedo T-shirt. ‘Cause it says like, I wanna be formal but I’m here to party too.”
Well, this Kate Spade Crossbody Purse kind of says the same thing. I like to think the classiness of the brand says I’m one of those well put-together Working Moms who has her sh*t together, but the crossbody function also says I’m ready at ANY minute to book it after my crazy toddler. Classy, yet Mom practical, see?
Fitness is important to incorporate into our daily lives but to make that happen, it must be ATTAINABLE. So when giving gifts make sure they align with the convenience mentality. Steer clear of any P90x mumbo jumbo – that’s not conducive to a busy Mom’s lifestyle.
A weighted hula hoop is a perfect activity while your kids watch 20 minutes of Paw Patrol.
As a Working Mom, I have 3 major roles, parent, wife, and employee. I want to thrive in all areas and part of that means continuing to seek opportunities to learn.
Audible books, paired with earbuds, make an excellent choice and have the power to gift a mindset that will transcend time.
This book will prove to be beneficial in all facets of your life, business, and family.
It takes a lot of effort to keep up with social media and sure, you may go through swings of deleting the Facebook app from your phone, but let’s be real, you still keep the Instagram app.
Keeping up with the Jones’ has a whole new meaning and sometimes you want the latest trend to make for some great photos. Don’t feel guilty, indulge yourself!
I totally get the appeal of these felt boards, they are clean and simple, you can pair with any photo and they capture milestones. Perfect for those monthly photoshoots!
One thing a lot of Moms have in common is that they are never in pictures. Stop that madness, invest in a tripod so Mom can get in on a few non-selfie group photos. Who cares if they’re totally staged – own it!
I adore the look of simple and sophisticated jewelry that works well with the (usually) understated Mom wardrobe. Functionality in jewelry is more important to me than ever before, I want a piece that goes well with everything from suits to sweats.
So just because fancy, elaborate jewelry may be a thing of the past, it doesn’t mean you should cross all jewelry off your list.
Call me old school, but I love the look of a classic watch. This Michele watch is simple and clean but has pops of color on the face which makes it fun. It definitely falls into the nice to have as a gift category!
Sometimes the only way to pull ourselves out of a little rut is to dress up! Pair a pretty piece with a gift card for a girls night out or date at the newest restaurant.
Clothing as gifts are a big deal to most because many of the Moms I know usually spend money on everyone else’s wardrobe but theirs.
At first, I was nervous to buy clothes off of Amazon but this shirt has single handily changed my mind. In fact, I own 2.
I bought the red top to ring in my 30th year with power and confidence. It’s such a comfortable and flattering top, perfect for all 3 of your fabulous nights out a year 😉
Best brand of jeans you’ll ever own – I asked for two pairs last Christmas because I wear them until the fabric in the knees gives out. And who knew you could get them via Amazon prime? A practical gift for the Mom who never spends money on her own wardrobe.
Starting the day right is CRUCIAL so anything to aid in that process always makes a nice gift.
Fill the Bag
On a whole, I think it’s safe to say, Moms love bags; they keep us organized, travel well, and contain our necessities. Given how much Moms use and value the ‘bag’, it’s important to make sure it’s cute, functional, and well-made.
Once you have all 3 criteria, fill it up with Mom’s favorite products!
This bag is multi-purpose. Stuff with towels, sunscreen, and pool gear. Or leave it in the car for easy car-to-house transfer. Carry school supplies or fill it with toys for a vacation trip. With this bag, Mom will find her perfect use.
Every Mom needs a cute makeup bag. Spoil her by filling it with her favorite products. Even if Mom isn’t big into makeup, she’ll find a reason, maybe make it first aid kit for the car? Keep hair ties? Post-Its and pens?
This area is always a biggie. You need to find items to help you relax and de-stress from all that Momming.
Some nights call for Champagne, yes, sometimes even Monday night. Only Mom knows when the bubbly is deserved☺.
On those nights you want just a glass, good news, you can have your 1 glass and keep the bubbles amazingly fresh with QPEY bottle stopper. It’s the real deal.
There you have it!
I hope this gift list eliminates stress and provides your loved ones with ideas on what to get you! Your friends and family aren’t Mind Readers, so share, share, share!
And don’t forget to help another Mom out, leave your must-have gift in the comments and keep this list growing!
